Saint Luke’s Health System, a healthcare provider, in Idaho experienced a data breach that occurred in May 2022. The breach was not discovered until June 2022. The protected health information (PHI) had been exposed and is still under investigation.

According to HIPAA Journal, a total of 31,579 patients in Boise had been compromised. This cost Saint Luke’s Health System an estimated $2,961,159 in fees, according to eRiskHub.

This data breach contained the following PHI:

  • Patient name
  • Insured name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • ID number
  • Account status
  • Payment due date
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security number
