How this could have been prevented
Do you have a Policies and Procedures manual in place for data breaches? If you do, do you update it accordingly? Do you follow the guidelines listed in them? How do you know if your employees are following the policies? Do you have checks and balances in place to monitor? Do you create an awareness for your employees to test them on their knowledge? Do you have resources that you can offer to each employee to ensure preparedness? If you don't have any policies in place, it's time to do so.
