How this could have been prevented
Ransomware has remained an ongoing security threat for all industries around the world. Cyber criminals continue to maximize their profits by exploiting each and every vulnerability. A ransomware attack (large or small) can take down a business of any size. Unfortunately, many businesses believe "this won't happen to us" and which couldn't be farther from the truth. Your facility could close down and you could lose your patient base and reputation in a matter of moments.
Preparation is the key when it comes to any ransomware attacks and it's important for all businesses to live by this motto.
1. Scan emails for malware
2. Install firewalls
3. Maintain up-to-date security software
4. Never click on unverified links
5. Dedicated Wi-Fi network for your team that public cannot access
